Kairos
Dee Shaw
“Kairos ” is one of a series of twelve photographs by Dee Shaw.
“I took these photographs at the end of 2006 as I walked along Depot Road on the way to my studio at Waygood in the Harker's Building, Byker. Within 3 days they were hidden behind sheets of wood and were spectacularly demolished along with the rest of the Siemens building.”
“The windows in their cracked form, beautifully repaired with industrial silicon were like a gallery of paintings, fulfilling the qualitative meaning for time (Kairos in Greek) and the upheaval to come. The doubling up of the objects in the reflection in the two layers of glass is like a shift in time.”
